Annual Road Cleanup 2024

To kick off the summer of celebrations for the 50 th Anniversary of MACA, the annual road cleanup was held on Sunday, May 19.

For the first time ever, we had two starting points – Miskwabi boat launch and Kennaway Road – thus a really thorough cleanup of all the roads within MACA area. Over 30 area folks braved the hot sun and blackflies to clear up all the roads around Long, Wenona, Negaunee and Miskwabi Lakes as well as Kennaway and Trapper’s Trail Roads. Two pickup trucks full of recyclables and trash were collected.

The prizes for best effort went to Lyla and Joanie from Long Lake. The gals also helped cut our 50th celebration cake.

Many thanks to all the volunteers and to Peter and Kathryn Dilworth, John Ewing and Tim Hagarty for hauling it all to the landfill.
